An Fronta Poblachtach

Fronta Poblachtach/Republican Front is being founded by Irish Republican activists from across Ireland to establish Irish Republicanism as a popular and credible political force in Irish society.

The core tenets of Irish Republicanism are enshrined chiefly in the 1916 Proclamation and the Democratic Program of the first Dáil. These documents outline the principles for the governing of an Ireland guaranteeing safety, security and prosperity for its people, their traditions and culture, and that of future generations.

Irish Republicanism holds that to achieve such an Ireland we must have a 32-County Republic, which is governed by the Irish Working Class alone, and not by a parasitical class within our own country, Britain or any other international political, economic or military institutions which would seek to exploit our people.

Irish Republicanism has been a popular and defining ideology in Ireland for generations but has begun to diminish rapidly in recent years. Our aim is to reverse this trend and to build a platform for a popular Republican Movement to ultimately establish the Republic of 1916.

Broadly speaking, our strategy is to:

1. Undermine the existing system which is founded on the exploitation of the Irish working class and the undermining of Irish sovereignty;

2. To promote an alternative system of governance based on the principles of Irish Republicanism, inextricably tied to the need for the revival of Ireland's language, culture and traditions;

3. To organise and participate in activism and institutions which may enhance our objectives, and to build popular support for a credible Republican movement to become the representative organisation of the Irish Working Class.

We invite all likeminded Republicans to join or work with us.
