Flying the national flag

Ireland is being subjected to imperialist pressure on two fronts to limit and remove entirely national symbolism from our public spaces. This has become so aggravated that there is now currently pro EU and British imperialist political parties pushing for the removal of our cherished tricolour. Fronta Poblachtach views this as a hostile act of subjugation from foreign powers in order to further turn Ireland into a vassal state rather than a sovereign independent nation. We have no doubt that the order to remove the Irish flags from public display comes directly from Westminster and Brussels. We take the flying of our flag seriously as the Tricolour is not only the symbol of the Irish nation, but it is the flag of the Irish Republic proclaimed in 1916, As Padraic Pearse read aloud the Proclamation on O’Connell Street, the Tricolour flew overhead claiming back what was rightfully ours. Fronta Poblachtach is proudly playing our part in the campaign to restore national pride by hanging Tricolours in our housing estates, villages, streets and town centres.
